Hi I am Maxine at the age of 17 I discovered I was pregnant, all went well until I was 26weeks gone then I went into premature labour and gave birth to a little boy (Mikel) weighing just 2lbs who only lived for 5 minutes. As this happened in 1980 I was not offered to hold him and after his death they disposed of him, I was not allowed to arrange a funeral as you had to be a certain amount of weeks pregnant at the time, also there was no support for me afterwards just the advice "you're young enough for another" not really what I wanted to hear.
A year later I was pregnant again but this time everyone was keeping a close watch but at 30 weeks I went into labour again this time I gave birth to a little girl (Charlotte) weighing 4lb 15oz she lived for 15 hours this time I did get to see her but no hold her until after she had passed away. Again I was offered no support.
With exception of my eldest sister and best friend NO-one ever mentions to this day my two precious angels its as if they never existed. I have never forgotten and never will forget my two lovely angels even though I have four children all grown up now. I think about Mikel and Charlotte every single day and often wonder what they would have turned out like.This is why i decided to set up this site for people like myself to come and talk or to pay respects to their loved ones.
